Noo Noo Has Been Homed

Noo Noo-greyhound-black

Noo Noo has been homed.

He is an average sized, solidly built, happy and waggy tailed (albeit he now only has half a tial – injury necessitated amputation), black, castrated male with a friendly and loving disposition. Noo Noo was born in August 2007.

Noo Noo walks nicely on a lead most of the time, although sighting a squirrel for example will turn the lad into an acrobatic and powerful boy. It’s therefore best he has a physically strong owner who is able to manage a powerful dog at such times even though most of the time he’s happy to trot along beside you showing perfect manners.

He’s a real character, the type of dog who will keep you amused. An extremely affectionate, “full on” bundle of fun.

Noo Noo is very inquisitive, just about everything he comes across needs a thorough investigation before he’s satisfied.

He has met other breeds of dog and has given us no cause for concern around medium to large breeds. Like most recently retired greyhounds Noo Noo would benefit from further socialisation with unfamiliar breeds before he’ll become 100% reliable. He’d be suitable as an only pet or as a companion to another canine of medium size and above.

No cats please.

  1. Came to the kennel today to buy food….. took a few of your lovely residents for a walk……Noo Noo was one of them. He is lovely. Walked very nicely. Seems a very happy, loveable guy. Hope someone snaps him up soon.

  2. I used to own Noo Noo (gortkelly Nani) I would have loved to have taken him home, but I have three cats. He is a lovely lad, who was spoilt rotten while in racing kennels. He is like a big cuddly teddy, and loves people. He would make a lovely pet.

  3. Had a great time visiting the Greyhound Lifeline today and were delighted to meet Nani and take him for a walk. We plan to visit again next week to also take him for a run in the paddock and hopefully we get to know each other better. Spent time with all the lovely staff today and learnt much more about retired greyhounds thanks to their vast knowledge and enthusiasm – many thanks to all !

  4. I am over the moon to see nani is reserved, he deserves a loving family. fingers crossed everything works out x

  5. I picked up Noo Noo last Thursday (Feb 28) to take him to his new home. After a broken night on Thursday (he’s got a top howl), a bit less so on Friday night, he slept all night onSunday night after several miles of walking, playing and generally enjoying himself. I also have to say what a fantastic dog he is, so good on the lead, tells us when he needs to go out and is not a greedy boy in any sense. He is calm and beautifully behaved when out and about, although definitely excitable when it’s walk time or we return after a short absence.
He plays well and even his habit of daintily picking up shoes and taking them back to his bed is endearing, as he doesn’t chew.
All in all, a fantastic advert for owning a retired greyhound and for the great work that Greyhound Lifeline have done with him. We feel so lucky to have him and he has fitted in so quickly.
We will be back soon for more food, an extra coat and for him to meet all his friends at the kennels again.

    • I am so happy to read that you have given Nani a home, he is such a lovely boy who we spoilt rotten while he was in racing kennels. He done us proud and won many races and trophies which i display with pride. We bought him from a greyhound sale at bellevue stadium in Manchester, that same day Manchester united were playing and they won 1-0 and the goal scorer was Nani. It must have been an omen. He has been very lucky for us, and now deserves a wonderful retirement. He suffered no injuries during his racing career, so I cannot see why he should not give you many years of pleasure, he is a lovely boy. Thank you for giving him a lovely home.

      Christine Cummings.
