Russell:  Mmmm ….. that smells good!  Are they parmesan cheese biscuits you’ve made?

Jo:  Yeah, they’re not for you …………  they’re for the dogs!

Russell:  What? You can’t be serious!  Those dogs eat better than I do!!!!!!

 Centre stage – two greyhounds both snoozing in their beds.

Tracy:  Hey Paddy, you awake?   I reckon Mum has made some more of those yummy cheesy, oat biscuits.

Paddy:  (yawn, yawn) What you chatting about?

Tracy:  Oh for goodness sake ….. can’t you smell that smell?

Paddy (twitching nose)  Yeah I’m definitely getting a whiff of something …… peanut butter and banana’s my guess.

Tracy:  (ears up, leaning forward)  Peanut butter and banana ….. are you being funny?

Paddy:  Certainly not.  Peanut butter ‘n banana’s my second favourite.  Course I could be persuaded by a cheese biscuit if you really pressed me but gotta say, since that pilchard sponge cake ……………

Tracy:  (head tilted)  Ooooh … yeah …. that cake was really smashing, pilchards in tomato sauce wasn’t it?  Oooooh,  wish we had some more!

Paddy:  Well we will ‘av some soon won’t we silly …..  your birthday’s coming up.

Tracy:  (head tilting the other way)  Oh heavenly… hope it’s got cream cheese on top?

Paddy:  Anyway, Mum’s only got to page 15 in that recipe book with the dog in a dinner jacket, who looks like me on the front cover.

Tracy:  ‘A La Bark Baking’ that book’s called and a donation is made from the sale of each book to a rescue centre for greyhounds like us.

Paddy:  I’ve just remembered the livercake ….

Tracy:  Oh my ….. the thought of all that food’s making me feel hungry;  just time for a snooze first.

Paddy ……….. ZZzzzzzz ZZZzzzzzzzzz

(Note from the author – dogs love home-made treats, they are easy to make, delicious and you know what’s in them.  Don’t take it from me, test them out on your hound, the expert)

Ps    My husband also likes biscuits but I scarcely have the time to bake them!!!!
