A Busy Weekend

Susie, Ivy, Bella and Ernest all went off to their respective homes this weekend! Great news after a pretty slow start to homing in March. Good luck girls and boy in your newly found homes.

Well done to Ed Harris for completing the Fleet Half Marathon and raising funds for Greyhound Lifeline through sponsorship in the process. Final amount raised to be advised as soon as possible.

Foster Home Appeal:

We still need foster homes for our greyhounds. Please read our greyhound fostering page to find out more information, perhaps you could foster a greyhound and give him/her a taste of what home life is all about?

Homed Greyhounds:

Susie, Bella, Ernest, Ivy, Archie, Henry and Rose have found their forever homes in March and they are now officially pet greyhounds.

 Updated Greyhound Descriptions:

Courtney, Champ,Turbo, Harry, Bizzle, Star and Rosie have updated descriptions available. For up to date information about all our available greyhounds please visit our Greyhounds for Adoption Gallery.

Cat Test Passes:

Bizzle, Abbie, Champ, Alfie, Phoebe, Jack and Harry have all passed cat tests and with caution in the early days they would be able to learn to live safely with cats. Phoebe is actually cat safe rather than a simple cat test pass.

Foster Dog Updates:

Jack is a new dog! What a superstar he is to have achieved so much in so little time. Those of us that know Jack are still in shock (of the very pleasant kind) at his remarkable progress. With thanks to Glenn, Anna and Sarah of Dog House Training for all their hard work.

Tara is another longer stay greyhound who has very pleasantly surprised us. Since going into foster care she has turned into a real lady and her description has changed to reflect her wonderful changes too.

Turbo has recently gone into foster care where he is doing very well indeed.

Abbie remains the perfect foster dog. We don’t understand why this gentle and perfectly behaved girl has not been snapped up already. Abbie has passed our cat test.

Phoebe is doing well in her foster home. She’s a very different girl to the one that first arrived. Again we need to thank Dog House Training for their help settling Phoebe down and thank Angela for her first venture into fostering. Phoebe lives with a cat.

New On Site

Paul has a new Greyhound Blog entry.

More beautiful greyhound poems (written by Tracy Errington) are now ready for you to read.

Imi is the most recent addition to our kennel. She’s a lovely, waggy tailed little lady with a gentle nature. A photo of Imi is now on site.

Could You be a Greyhound Blog Author?

New site content is needed in the form of our Greyhound Blogs. Please contact us if you would like to write a greyhound blog and have it appear on our web site.

Our archive greyhound blogs are still able to be seen, but some new content from existing authors or some new authors altogether would be very welcome.

Annual Kennel Open Day

We have set the date for our 2012 Kennel Open Day. It’s going to be on Sunday May 20th from 11am through to 2pm. We’ll have lots of stalls and fun events, plus a parade of our “stars of the show”, those greyhounds still waiting for adoption.

Entry and parking will be free, although a donation of canned dog food or fish (tuna, sardines, pilchards etc) in oil, spring water or tomato sauce would be most welcome. Absolutely no fish in brine though please as salt is poisonous to dogs!

More information about events and stalls will be published nearer the day.
