Stitch Has Been Homed

Stitch has been homed – 18.8.22.

Stitch is in foster care near Southampton, Hampshire.  He arrived with us on the 7th July 2022 and he was born on the 12th October 2017.

He is a friendly, gentle boy, who is looking for a family of his own. Stitch can be a little shy but once he has got to know you, he’s true character comes alive!  This lad would prefer a quieter home with older teenagers or an adult only family. Stitch can become a little anxious of sudden moves or loud noises but he’s a clever lad and will take himself off to his safe space (his crate) for a few minutes before returning to you again.  What a good lad!  These times are becoming fewer the more he gets used to home living and the strange noises that are within them.

Stitch is house trained, can walk on all floor types and has learnt that feet stay on the floor, especially in a kitchen! He can be left for a few hours with his greyhound friends and is always pleased to greet you once home again.

This little lad can sit and will often be seen doing this especially if he is getting a cuddle from his human friends.  Stitch enjoys having his teeth cleaned and his favourite treat is a pigs ear or venison shank!

Stitch LOVES his food and will always tell you that he is hungry, even when he has just been fed!  He will need to be supervised around food if there is another greyhound in the household.  He is learning to wait his turn but can be like a lightning bolt trying to get to the food first!  Stitch takes treats gentle from your hand and is learning to wait his turn for them.

This gentle lad enjoys playing with soft toys but he may not show you this side until he has become settled and once he starts you just can’t stop him!  Stitch loves playing with other greyhounds, he will always try to start the game of by barking and play bowing to his friends!  If he can’t get them to play he will just run around with them, he is always a very happy boy.

After all the excitement he will seek out his trusted, human companion for some cuddle time.

He enjoys his walks and can walk very nicely on the lead, Stitch can also easily jump into a car for his outings.

Stitch has met a range of other breeds of dog, he has started to use his social skills to greet larger breeds correctly, he isn’t quite sure what little dogs are, especially if they bark at him but this is improving on every outing.  It won’t be long before this boy realises that you can have fun with all breeds of dog.

This adorable boy could be homed on his own, if someone was around most of the time or with another greyhound after careful introductions have taken place.
