Today's News - Saturday 31st July 2010

Tara, Corey, Teddy, Harry and Monica have been homed.

Bess, Zak, Henry and Kes are reserved.

Bud, Lara and Tess are the latest arrivals for adoption. Brief descriptions of them are available. We hope to have their photographs on site by tomorrow. Details of all our greyhounds for adoption can be found in the Greyhound Adoption Gallery.

Bruno, one of our long stay dogs has his own feature in the August edition of "Dogs Today" magazine. With thanks to Carol for all her hard work in getting Bruno published. We hope that the feature will find him that long overdue home that he deserves.

Jack, another of our long stay greyhounds is now an official RGT sponsor dog. Please visit The Greyhound Trust's Sponsorship  page where more details about Jack can be found. Perhaps you would like to sponsor him?

APPEALS

  • Would you be prepared to approach shops, garden centres or perhaps even the company you work for to ask if they would we willing to display a copy of our homing poster? Our waiting list of dogs needing a homing place continues to grow at a rapid rate, but we cannot take any of these dogs in until homes are found for the greyhounds already in our care. A little extra publicity could help find a home for a greyhound. If you can help then please send in an email so that we can email you back a copy of the poster for home printing.
  • Please take a minute to tear the postage stamps off all your letters, then pop them in an envelope and send to the Retired Greyhound Trust at 2nd Floor, Park House, 1-4 Park Terrace, Worcester Park, Surrey KT4 7JZ. Every kilogram of used stamps can be sold to raise funds for the RGT of which Greyhound Lifeline are just one branch. Perhaps you could ask your friends and work colleagues to collect too?

  • Small items (e.g, stocking filler toys, toiletries, unwanted gifts etc ) are needed to re-stock the fundraising tombola stall. A guide value of £2 or less per item is appropriate. Larger/more valuable items would also be gratefully received as future raffle prizes. No food items please.

Boy or Girl highlights the common problem in greyhound rescue and re homing of finding homes for the greyhound males. Perhaps after reading through the page you might give equal consideration to adopting a boy.
