We had a blast at our Summer Fair last weekend.
The weather wasn’t on our side on the Saturday but we still had a great day. The sun shone on the Sunday and lots of people came out to support us.
Thank You to Uke Box Glory for coming along on Saturday and playing at our Summer Fair, despite the weather they continued to entertain us. We are very grateful and loved hearing you play.
We really enjoyed seeing all our previously homed hounds and meeting new faces too!
Over the weekend we raised £2,457.36, this is a fantastic amount and our volunteers have worked so hard building up to this event as well as on the day.
Thank you to everyone who came along to see us, who donated items and spent their money with us too. We are really grateful for all the support you have shown us. 100% of this money will be spent on the greyhounds in our care now and in the future. With rising veterinary and food bills this amount has come at a much needed time.
Our little girl Ace was also reserved at the weekend too which finished our weekend off nicely!

Holiday For Greyhound Lifeline:
We are having a short break between Saturday 13th June and Saturday 27th June, our kennel greyhounds and volunteers deserve a bit of relaxing time. We have had a lot of events recently so will be having a quiet two weeks. The team will keep you updated on the kennel greyhounds as they enjoy some extra play days! We will still be answering emails and answering phones during this time but no viewings or homings will be happening.
Dog Food Donations:
If anyone is able to purchase us some Butchers Dog Tinned Meat our kennel greyhounds would be very thankful. We would prefer the tripe mix or the meaty loaf, we ask that you do NOT purchase anything in gravy as it upsets our dog’s tummies. Thank You.
The BIG Walk 2026:
This year we will be doing our BIG walk again!
We have now selected our walkers for this event, there will be eleven volunteers who will be walking the 25 miles and a good support team too.
The walkers are – Kit, Nikki, Holly, Jo, Kelly, Graeme, Amanda, Phil, Gina, Cora and Jaz. We are very pleased they have all chosen to complete the challenge.

APPEAL FOR KENNEL DOG WALKERS:
We are looking to extend our walking team, these volunteers walk our kennel dogs each day.
Criteria for walkers:
- Volunteers must live near to Southampton.
- We need people who can help us either early morning, starting time around 7.30am or mid afternoon to exercise our kennel dogs.
- We are looking for walkers who can walk Monday-Friday.
- Volunteers need to have their own transport.
- Volunteers will be joining a group of walkers, we need people who can work well within a team.
Full training will be given to all successful volunteers.
