Dodger Has Been Homed

Dodger has been homed.

He is an average sized black, castrated male with a confident and friendly nature.

Dodger walks nicely on a lead when wearing a Canny Collar, he can be strong on a normal greyhound collar.

Dodger has met other breeds of dog and once introduced he gives no cause for concern around them. Excitable at first, he just needs the regular “meet and greets” with other breeds of dog that a home life would give him. He’s capable of flourishing into a wonderful pet for someone. The rare meetings with non greyhounds in our kennel environment have held this boy back.

He would be suitable as an only pet or as a companion to another canine of medium size and above.

Suited to children aged 7 years and over.

Here is a report by Sian, one of our kennel staff, who has volunteered to take Dodger out and about from time to time:

“When taken off site for outings, Dodger is a wonderful ambassador for Greyhound Lifeline. With reassurance from his handler, he is very happy to make friends with other breeds of dog, even when he is vastly outnumbered.  He is also quickly learning that small dogs are friends not foe.

Every time he goes off site, his confidence grows and this boy is showing the potential to be a calm, well mannered dog who is a pleasure to take out.

He is also a huge softie who loves nothing more than having a quiet cuddle. He particularly likes his humans to crouch down in front of him so that he can gently rest his head on their shoulder. What is great is that he is affectionate without being needy. This boy is so wasted in kennels, he has bucket loads of love to give and whoever adopts him is going to be very lucky.

To sum up, I think of him as The Divine Dodger.”
