Misty Has Been Homed

Misty2

Misty has been homed.

She is a confident, lively and playful black, spayed bitch who was born in May 2008.

Misty can walk nicely on a lead when she is wearing a Canny Collar.  She has a developed chase instinct so walking Misty you do need your wits about you and a strong arm in the event she spots some interesting wildlife.

Misty

She enjoys playing with toys and she plays nicely with them allowing you to take them without any bother. She loves her cuddles and will lap up all the attention! Misty can be a high energy girl she’d benefit from mental and physical exercise to keep her inquisitive and mischievous nature in check.

Misty would suit an adult only home or one with teenagers.  She would be fine as an only pet if there was someone around most of the day or a companion to a male greyhound/medium to large size other breed of dog, which she would then be able to be left for a reasonable period of time without any problems.

Misty has recently attended dog training classes, she responded very positively to correction and training around other breeds of dog, with further training she should learn to accept smaller breeds of dog as friends.

No cats or small fluffies please.

A report about Misty from her foster family:

Misty came into foster care with us on January 1st 2015. She is a very friendly, loving, confident, inquisitive and full of fun girl who likes to be with you whatever you are doing. She also gets on well with Dodger and Ben, our two resident greyhounds and she always gives visitors a warm greeting when they come into the house.

This girl has a healthy appetite and she does clear away any leftovers should there be any in our boys bowls. Misty is quiet in the home, can be left in her crate for reasonable periods of time without problems and is house trained, asking to go outside by standing and looking at the door. She is fine on all floor types, can manage our steps outside, but has not yet tried the stairs indoors.

Misty plays nicely with a toy either with you or alone, allowing you to take the toy from her at any time. She does however guard the toy should either of the boys come near by growling a warning at them which they seem to understand.

Walking Misty with or without our boys is generally easy unless she spots something to chase and becomes excited. Using a Canny Collar and appropriate lead control will easily keep her safely in check, although you will need to be ready to react as required.

Misty is not bothered by any noises, traffic or any other activity encountered whilst out and about in a town centre environment, remaining calm and composed at all times. She is especially good when meeting people and clearly enjoys all the attention bestowed upon her.

Misty is a serious foodie and is capable of stealing food from your hand, plate or table given the chance. She is also capable of counter surfing meaning that she is able to steal from worktops as well. We are working to discourage her from this behaviour but currently this is a work in progress.

Although Misty has some things to learn about life outside of the kennel environment, she is capable of becoming a very well behaved much loved family pet. She responds well to training, is eager to please and has an enormous amount of love to give you. She really does deserve the chance of a home of her own and will make a wonderful pet for someone prepared to continue working with her.
