IMPORTANT CONTACT INFORMATION: After a long term problem with only some email being received on our [email protected] email address we are now up and running again. We apologise to any of you who have emailed on that address previously and not had a reply, we were not ignoring you, we simply were not aware you had mailed.

We would like to pass on our grateful thanks to several of our volunteers and supporters who have once again gone “above and beyond” what anyone would expect of them. Thanks to them our kennel premises has recently had a major face lift.

Thank you to Paul, Paul and Paul (yes there are three different Pauls on the team) and Mark. Between them we now have newly painted kennel floors, lovely big raised beds (so that if we are unlucky enough to have heavy rains this winter we will not have to evacuate dogs from flooded kennels).

We also have more secure and much higher kennel sides to prevent escape artists (like the lovely Lily) from jumping out when unsupervised! B & Q Southampton kindly donated off cuts off artificial grass which has now been laid to create an all weather and comfortable surface in our back kennel yard.

We’d also like to thank our lovely Friday lady Sam for the new anti-tip water bowl holders which (so far) have worked a treat.

Thank you Hart Environmental Health Department:

For October 2014 Hart Environmental Health Department have set up collection bins in Hart District for dog food donations to benefit Greyhound Lifeline. Our local dog warden, who we work closely with, is alternating beneficiaries for the food collection on a monthly basis between the various dog rescues that help by taking strays/unclaimed dogs in for re-homing.

Stock Appeal:

Fancy having a pre Christmas clear out to make some room? We are in need of stock suitable to sell at car boot fairs or at local fairs/events.

The things we need the most are DVD’s, children’s toys, board games and console games.

Merchandise:

Our merchandise pages have been updated and we have several new items that may be of interest. Please note that we do not do a mail order service, all items (except jewellery and tassels) are for collection in person from our kennels only.

Jewellery and tassels for both dogs and handbags made by Aqua are available on a mail order basis since these items are made to order and not stocked at our kennels. With Christmas fast approaching perhaps a nice pair of hand made earrings for a wife, girlfriend, daughter or mother would be a great gift idea or you could treat your hound to a hand made collar tassel or two? Early ordering for the festive season would be much appreciated so please order jewellery early to avoid disappointment.

A selection of hand made earrings available via mail order.

Greyhounds in Foster Care:

Robbie, Lily, Max, Reggie and Champ are in foster care. If one of our foster dogs interests you as a potential new family member then you simply need to contact us and we’ll arrange a mutually convenient date and time for you to meet him/her.

Used Postage Stamp and Ink Cartridge Appeal:

Many of you may already know that the Retired Greyhound Trust collect used postage stamps to raise funds for the greyhounds in their care. For some of you collecting the occasional stamp here and there and finally getting around to posting a collection off may be a bit of a nuisance. We also collect old mobile phones.

Fundraise for us using eBay:

You can sell items on ebay and choose to donate between 10% and 100% of your sale price to Greyhound Lifeline. If you are an ebay member you could also simply donate by using your Paypal account. For ebay members only please visit their Sell for Charity page and enter “Greyhound Lifeline” in the Charity name area.

If you are a UK tax payer please also tick the Gift Aid box. Please read ebay’s terms and conditions carefully as we cannot be held responsible for any problems you may encounter. Could you sell your unwanted items and help us to buy food, provide veterinary care and generally look after the greyhounds in our care at the same time?
