COVID-19 OPENING RESTRICTIONS

We would like to announce that we are now semi-open for appointments ONLY.  Please DO NOT attend our kennels unless you have made an appointment with one of the managers.

The trustees of Greyhound Lifeline would like to say a huge thank you to the small team of kennel hands, who have been working at the kennels through this difficult time and to the public by sharing our appeals and not attending the kennels, which has meant we could keep all our kennel hands safe.

Epic also knows how to sit, he will wait patiently for his food to be served and watch your every move incase you drop anything!

The only thing they are going without is the same thing as us; group interaction with different people.

The small team of kennel hands, will work in isolation with a kennel manager on standby for emergencies.

You can follow Greyhound Lifeline on our Facebook Page and on this website.

We will keep you updated on all the dogs in our care, including new arrivals, everyday excitement at the kennels, in our foster homes and greyhounds that become reserved or homed.

Poppy enjoying home life (was Pepsi).

We are very grateful for the numerous offers of help we have and continue to receive, but we do need everyone except our small team of volunteer kennel hands to stay away. This minimises the risk of infection to them and maximises the well-being of our dogs who are totally reliant on these seven people.

Thank you to everyone who donated to our last appeal of tinned fish and Chappie, we had a huge response which has really helped us at the kennels look after all of our greyhounds.

PLEASE NOTE WE CANNOT ACCEPT ANYMORE DONATIONS OF FABRIC BEDDING OR DONATIONS FOR OUR CAR-BOOT SELLERS AT THE KENNELS.  IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO DONATE ITEMS FOR CAR-BOOTS PLEASE USE THIS EMAIL ADDRESS [email protected] AND MEET WITH THEM OFF SITE.

WE ARE VERY MUCH APPRECIATIVE TO THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE ALREADY DONATED.

Kennel News:

Greyhound Retirement Scheme:

Greyhound Lifeline have been accepted on to this scheme, by the Greyhound Board of Great Britain, the scheme was launched on the 1/9/20.  The retirement scheme is a huge step forward, in the greyhound racing industry, in ensuring the future welfare of all greyhounds once they have retired from their racing days by providing a bond to help get them ready for home life.

Festive Season Homing Dates:

Due to the excitement of the upcoming seasonal festivities please note that the last homing date for any families with children will be Sunday 13th December 2020. Normal homing will resume on Monday 4th January 2021.

There may be an adoption or two, for exceptionally quiet homes without children, but each case will be judged purely with the best interest of the dog at the forefront of our minds.

Our greyhounds love to play with humans and with toys, you can imagine how many toys we get through!  Some of our dogs try to gain more toys in their beds by pinching a few when playing in the sand paddock.  How can you say no to this adorable face!
