Blue Has Been Homed

Blue the blue greyhound

Blue has been homed.

He is a large sized, castrated, blue male with a friendly, happy and loving disposition.

Blue was born in August 2006, a middle aged chap true, but he has love, cuddles and adoration to give in abundance.

He has met other breeds of dog and given us no cause for concern around them generally, although with small dogs or puppies he can be an opportunist and sometimes strong so a muzzle would be required for the longer term when out walking him.

You’d need to be assertive and show leadership to Blue so he can respect you, look up to you and want to be with you. Without that Blue has a tendency to become a bit “too big for his boots” which can lead to some behaviour problems.

Blue walks very nicely on a lead generally, he travels well and is keen to get into a car for his outings.

Blue likes cuddly toys best, he’ll also play with a football, but he doesn’t like balls that bounce at him. Bouncing balls are scary and poor Blue runs away in fear!

Blue would be suitable in an adult only home and as an only pet.

No cats or small fluffies please.

Blue has spent time in foster care for assessment. His fosterer’s report the following:

Blue is a lovely, friendly dog, but his enthusiastic greetings combined with general clumsiness mean that he wouldn’t suit a home with small children. He’d simply knock little ones over in his haste to say hello.

Having said that Blue is a pleasure to have around. He has an extremely loving and playful temperament with some funny little bonus traits like being great at some forms of housework… yes, housework. Dusting coffee tables is his particular speciality as his happily wagging tail doesn’t allow any dust to settle for long!

Blue loves playing with soft toys and especially squeaky toys, but he will need virtually indestructible sqeakers as he can be pretty hard on them.

Blue is stressed by fireworks, but that is very common in dogs generally.
