Pabbie Has Been Homed

Pabbie has been homed – 26.2.23.

Pabbie is in foster care in Southampton, Hampshire, he arrived in our care on the 6th January 2023 and he is only 18 months old!

This lad is a friendly boy who is going to make a perfect addition to his new family.

Pabbie is a real sweetie, he loves cuddles, will try to give you a bear hug which he is being discouraged from doing due to his size.

This lad may not be the smallest greyhound you have met but he may be one of the biggest greyhounds that you may have seen before.  Pabbie is very gentle albeit his size, he has very large feet but a real stunner to look at.

Pabbie is always very happy to see you, being so young he is still getting used to meeting new people and places but takes it all in his stride.

He is learning about home living and doing very well with it too.  Pabbie has been clean so far in the home environment, he is quiet at night time and gets on well with the other greyhounds in the house.  This boy loves his food and will do anything to get more! Taking treats from your hand he will do very gently.

Counter surfing is one area he is learning about and FAST.  He is quickly learning that we don’t jump up, but when he does, he jumps up softly and gracefully which would melt your heart but is still gets told to get down, which he does!  He certainly makes it hard to tell him off with those butter, melting, eyes and the kisses he gives too!

Pabbie has met a range of other breeds of dog up close and further away, he takes no notice of them running around and is just a friendly soul.  He has met the resident chickens and too has taken no notice of them.

A nice wardrobe of coats will be needed for this large lad, as although he is big, if it’s cooler outside he would like a jacket to put on, as he does feel the cold, like most other greyhounds!  He will definitely need an XXL coat to wear!

Pabbie is affectionate but not pushy, he will wait for his turn for a fuss/stroke, he likes to be with you, putting his nose into what you are doing, checking there is no food in there!

He has shown some attention to toys but currently will watch the others greyhounds play, although he does like a tennis ball to catch and chew on.

Walking is a pleasure with this boy, he likes to walk next to you on a slack lead, no barking at other dogs so a relaxing walk can be had with him.  He waits nicely whilst you get him ready for a walk and then enjoys going out with you.  Pabbie is learning to jump into the car on his own, he’s quite a weight to pick up so once he has learnt then that would be a real bonus for him and his owners back!

Pabbie can sit and does it very well too!  He is a lovely boy, a real gentle soul.

He would love a family of his own.  Pabbie could be homed with children that are used to big dogs, he could knock a small person over by accident, if he was playing or running around.  This boy could also be homed as an only pet if he was only going to be left for short periods of time, due to his age or live with other greyhounds or other dogs too.

One thing he doesn’t like is RAIN or puddles, if he can get away with not going outside in the rain he will.  Puddles he will try his best not to walk in, not even just a little.  This boy hasn’t learnt yet that water can be fun!

Come and meet the boy, you are sure to fall in love with him!
