Patrick Has Been Homed

Greyhound Patrick blue

Patrick was homed 05/09/2012.

He is a giant sized, gentle and friendly, blue, castrated male who was born in December 2007.

Patrick has met other breeds of dog and given us no cause for concern around them. He would be suitable as an only pet or as a companion to another canine of any size.

He has passed our cat test. With caution and vigilance in the early days of adoption we feel that Patrick will be able to learn to live safely with cats.

This lad is also able to walk easily on laminate flooring and he can manage stairs well too.

Patrick was a new arrival as of 17/07/2012. He is currently being treated for a skin condition and it will take a few weeks to clear up. His coat and skin are not therefore at their best currently. If you come to meet him please bear in mind that his comfort and looks will improve dramatically before too long.

Due to a complication of his routine castration Patrick has spent some time in a foster home under observation whilst he recovered.

His foster carer reports:

Patrick walks nicely on a lead, he travels well and is keen to get into a car for his outings.

He has been naturally clean in the home. I’ve not made any attempt to house train him as it just hasn’t been necessary. He instinctively knows to toilet outside.

He’s very happy to be crated, putting himself to bed when he’s tired, but he’s also happy to snooze outside in the sunshine watching the pigeons walk past him. Patrick is far too lazy to get up and chase them, he simply watches them with eyes barely open!

Patrick is able to be left in the company of other dogs without problems, not tested in the home on his own.

He has been blissfully quiet overnight from day one.

He loves food, in fact he’s probably best described as a dustbin on legs, it’s quite amazing how much this lad can put away! Again though good manners and Patrick go together as he makes no attempt to steal the other dogs’ food.

An inquisitive lad who is an absolute pleasure to have around. Affectionate without being pushy, happy without being bouncy. He likes food, but has made no attempt to steal from (people) plates or worktops.

He’d be fine with children aged 7 years and over. Being a tall boy I think younger children would likely get black eyes from his happily wagging tail which can become a rather painful whip in motion!

Patrick will make some lucky person the most wonderful pet. It’s been a pleasure to care for him as he’s just no trouble at all.
