Tiny Has Been Homed

Tiny has been homed – 2.6.23.

Tiny is in kennels in Southampton, Hampshire, he arrived with us on the 25th April 2023 and he was born on the 12th October 2019.  He doesn’t really live up to his name but he definitely knows it!

This chap is (mostly housetrained); understands the rules of the house and understands the commands – ‘no’, ‘off’ ‘good boy’ and his name!  Tiny has shown no interest in jumping up at the kitchen cupboards but he is a foody so it is best no food is left out!  He is very gentle when he takes treats from your hand and waits patiently for his turn when it is feeding time.

Tiny is crate trained and enjoys spending time in there with the door open or closed, he knows at bedtime where to go, back to his kennel and is always happy to run inside once the door has been opened.  During the day Tiny spends most of the day in the house, getting used to home living and is around several other greyhounds.  Tiny is quiet in his kennel at night and always has a big waggy tail in the morning to greet you.

He is an affectionate lad, who enjoys being brushed and having snuggles with his human friends, Tiny is learning that brushing your teeth is a good thing!  He can be a little wary of new things, so will need time to adjust to new activities, although this time is shortening.

Tiny can be a little hand shy to unfamiliar people, on walks he is quite happy to see new people but in the home environment this is still a work in progress.  He likes to absorb the environment before greeting others but when he does he has a smiley face and a waggy tail (if you are lucky).  This chap can get a little worried about loud noises and will look for his human for confidence.  Timy is a very sweet, gentle, natured boy.

He has made some good human friends that he sees daily and is beginning to seek out other humans now for affection and laps it up whilst he stands next to you, sometimes a greyhound lean will take place too.

This lad could be homed with another dog; this will continue to build his confidence or on his own if he wasn’t left very long, a retired owner or an owner who can take their dog to work/or at home in would also be a suitable for this boy.

Tiny could live with older teenagers who are used to big dogs and how to behaviour around them.  He has started to play with soft toys but currently likes to do this when you are not watching him!  I’m sure soon he will play with toys with his human friends too.

He loves his outings, travels well and is always very keen to get into the car.  This boy can walk nicely on a lead and enjoys going out for his walks with his favourite people and dogs!  Tiny can be spooked by loud bangs and will look to his owner for some reassurance.

Tiny has shown he can be sociable with other breeds, he has met a range of other breeds out on his walks and has shown how polite he can be around them.

He enjoys being outside, either going out for walks or just stretching his legs in an enclosed area.

This lad has come a long way, in such a small amount of time.  Tiny would make a lovely addition to any home.  He really does just want to please his new owner.

Call the adoption line and come and meet Tiny – what a fantastic lad he is!
