We have had a busy couple of months with greyhounds coming in, most only spending a few weeks with us or for some, only a few days before leaving us to start a new life with their chosen family!

April also saw the start of our events, we were all very excited to begin our street collections and events again.

Haskins: our collectors spent two days at our local Haskins store, West End, Southampton.  We were made to feel very welcome, met a lot of new faces and some we already knew.  The team raised £1,014.57 over the two day event, a great amount to start the new year with!  Thank you Haskins and your customers.

Eastleigh: the team took to the town centre to spread the word about greyhounds making fantastic pets, lots of cuddles were shared and of course the donations came in too.  Eastleigh you gave us £296.97, thank you from all of us!

We are very thankful to all our volunteers that give up their time to support us and help raise the much needed funds.

Easter Walk & Picnic:  the weather just about held for this event, it was a little damp to have a picnic but we enjoyed some cakes instead!

It was lovely to see so many people and their hounds.  We enjoyed a lovely walk, a paddle in the pond – dogs of course and an Easter raffle once everybody had returned.

This event was a social one, lots of laughs and time to catch up with old friends.

The raffle took £206.75, which is a fantastic amount!

Three of our kennel hounds were reserved on the day too!  It was an amazing day with lots of good surprises!

Summer Fair:

Book the dates now for our Summer Fair, it will be our first in Southampton and we are really looking forward to it.

Lots of stalls including – greyhound/dog merchandise, plant sale, homemade cakes, copper collection, Aqua jewellery, handcrafted gifts, children’s games and crafts, doggie games and plenty of treats for sale – ranging from homemade biscuits, bones, chews and a doggie lucky dip!  We will also have our own fun dog show – all dogs are welcome to attend and our kennel dogs will be present for our ‘homeless hound’ parade.

We will have plenty of other stalls and games which will make the weekend a success!  Come along, join us and have some fun!  See below for more details.

Appeal for our Summer Fair:

The date is getting closer and we are starting to prepare the stalls, we are appealing for tombola and raffle prizes, cuddly teddy bears, children’s games, toys, children’s books, items for a dog jumble sale and handmade items that we could sell on one of our stalls.  Please get in contact if you have any suitable items so we can give one of our drop off points.  We have drop off points in Fleet, Farnborough, Southampton, Fareham and Verwood.

We can provide this service on any of our scheduled walks, a private appointment or a Friday at Parklife, St James Park.  Please phone or email us to make an appointment.

We are at St James Park, Parklife Cafe, Southampton every Friday between 10.30am-12pm, all are welcome to join us, plenty of greyhounds to share a cuddle with.  Welcome to bring your own greyhounds too.

Kennel News:

Blossom is still looking for her own family, she has seen lots of greyhounds come in and go and yet she is still waiting.  If you are looking for a small female who is already housetrained and a perfect little girl in the house, then please make contact with us.

Blossom is working on her social skills around other breeds of dog and each day she makes positive steps.  She really is a fun, loving girl who really wants to please you. Please look past her other breeds skills and see the beautiful girl that she really is.

Lets help Blossom find her family so she can be the next dog to leave our kennels.
