Tommy Has Been Homed

Tommy

Tommy has been homed. 24/10/15

He is a lively, very young black, castrated male who was born on 1st July 2013 and is now reserved.

Generally Tommy walks well on a lead, but being an excitable chap he has moments of forgetting his manners.

We need an active family for Tommy with someone around most of the time to channel his youthful zest for life into good behaviour through play, training and exercise. He ‘s not for the faint hearted, as you will need 360 degree vision, but with some work and consistent training from you this lad has massive potential to become the most fantastic pet.

He loves to play with his kennel mate and with toys, Tommy is a cheeky chap and will often try and help you tidy up.  He has got quite a talent at carrying various things around in his mouth, including buckets of water, dustpans and clothing!

Tommy needs a home!Meet Tommy, a handsome 2 year old with a real zest for life! This youngster is still very puppy-like and he gets very bored in kennels so we are urgently seeking an active home where he can enjoy lots of attention and spend plenty of time playing and learning about the world. He’s a very bright lad who, though he will need some training (like any young dog!), will easily pick up new skills and behaviours. His intelligence needs channelling into something useful – learning recall, self control or perhaps even agility! As he is so young and easily bored, he will need a home where he has human company and supervision for most of the day; he’ll be able to live with children over 10 and a medium to large canine playmate would be his idea of heaven! Tommy is a wonderful, affectionate, confident and loveable lad and not to be missed! To find out more about Tommy, please call Lucy at Greyhound Lifeline on 07769 348310 or visit the branch website: http://www.greyhoundlifeline.co.uk/adopt/greyhounds-needing-homes/tommy/

Tommy has met other breeds of dog, he gets very excited for initial introductions, but he is improving. In a home environment with daily exposure to a multitude of different shapes, sizes and temperaments of dog we think he will progress forward in leaps and bounds.

Below is a picture of Tommy and Chloe at one of his training sessions.

Tommy’s tail rarely stops wagging and that can be a little hard on both your legs and his tail. Tommy is usually wearing a padded tail tip protector otherwise he paints the kennel walls red and suffers a sore tail in the process. He would be best suited to a home with teenage children or an adult only home due to his high energy levels.
