Yogi Has Been Homed

Yogi has been homed – 7.5.23.

Yogi is in foster care in Southampton, Hampshire, he arrived in our care on 30th January 2023 and he was born on the 4th February 2020.

This lad is a tall, friendly, black and white boy who is going to make a perfect addition to his new family.  Yogi has got a fantastic temperament, a real sweetie and just loves to please you.  He really is our own teddy bear!

Yogi loves to meet new people, says hello in a calm manner and will nuzzle your arm for more strokes if you forget to stroke him!  He maybe tall but that doesn’t mean he can’t be gentle and gentle is certainly in his nature. Those beautiful eyes will melt your heart, Yogi isn’t pushy for attention but will put his head on your lap and gaze up into your eyes waiting for that next cuddle!

This happy, chappy has mastered housetraining and has begun to let you know when he needs to go out, with a bark.  Yogi is quiet at night and when you go out and leave him for a few hours, as long as you leave him with a nice treat or toy!  Yogi enjoys helping you to move things around or to tidy up.  He very gentle takes dog coats, shoes, blankets to his bed and then lays there with them, Yogi allows you to take them back.  This cheeky boy will even borrow them from right next to his human friends!  Those eyes say it all and you really can’t get cross with him.

Yogi loves being brushed, especially on his neck – getting all those itchy hairs out and will stand very nicely whilst his teeth are brushed – he certainly has very white toothy pegs!

Toys, toys and more toys this chap loves to play.  He is quite happy playing by himself or with a human friend.  Cuddly, squeaky, rope toys – you name it this chap loves them.  Yogi seems to be able to make a game up with anything he finds, always with a smile on his face, this boy is so funny to watch.

He loves to play chase me with his greyhound friends and will spend lots of time play bowing, small barks and running around, he certainly has energy this lad.

Yogi loves his sandpit and this is usually wear he stashes all his toys, the other favourite play area he loves is WATER!  He just seems to love collecting balls/toys from the water or stopping for a quick dip and drink in the plunge pool. When playtime is over, he isn’t keen to stop but he will listen and come back inside with you for some quiet time.  This boy has learnt his name and knows when he needs to come to you, clever boy.

After all the excitement he will seek out a quiet place to take a nap but he will have one sneaky eye on his human friends in case they try to go out or do an exciting activity without him!

He enjoys his walks and can walk very nicely on the lead next to you, he can use his strength a little if the passing wildlife decide to come out to say ‘hello’!  Yogi loves the odd cuddle you can give him whilst walking along or at a quick bench stop whilst you have a small rest.  He has mastered the act of jumping into a car and after a few minutes will lay down waiting for you to start driving.

Yogi has met lots of other breed, doggie friends whilst out on his walks, he has made huge progress with other dogs.  He loves to say hello to medium size above and can do so in a very calm manner.

Yogi can get a little excited if they are all running around having fun, he is easily controlled and just wishes he could play with them too!  In controlled situations Yogi will say hello to smaller dogs for a short amount of time, this is huge progress and shows how far he has come in the short time that we have had him.

This chap loves his outings and especially going to the café, he acts perfectly inside and enjoys watching all the ‘passing by’ through the large windows.  Yogi will say hello to anyone and everyone in the café, in a very polite manner.  He will make himself at home either standing next to you or laying by your feet.  Yogi loves the biscuits that he gets from the café staff and of course those extra cuddles, two of the highlights of going inside!  Who can resist a cuddle with a snuggly greyhound?!

He would be best suited to a home with children over the age of 10 years, he could be an only dog if someone was around most of the time or as a companion to a female greyhound with careful introductions.

Yogi is a boy who loves his food so watch out in the kitchen, put away those tasty treats, this lad has learnt that counter surfing is not allowed and 99% of the time he keeps his feet on the floor! He is a quick learner and knows this is wrong but still takes his chances when nobody is looking!

This boy is so ready for a home of his own, he has made huge progress and now needs to share this with his new family.

Give our adoption line a call and ask to see Yogi! He is ADORABLE!
