Fantastic Weekend!

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT GREYHOUND LIFELINE IS CLOSED TO MOST VISITORS, DOG WALKERS AND MOST KENNEL HANDS.

DURING THIS DIFFICULT PERIOD WE ARE STILL OPEN FOR GREYHOUND ADOPTION ENQUIRIES, VIEWINGS, HOMINGS AND THE SALE OF DOG FOOD AND GOODS.  YOU MUST PRE-BOOK BY EITHER PHONING US ON 07769348310 OR EMAILING US ON [email protected] TO BUY GOODS OR FOR VIEWINGS.

Times are changing and the world is finding new ways of still doing the same task.  Greyhound Lifeline is doing the same.  We have been altering tasks so we can still ensure all of our greyhounds remain enjoying their time with us.

Greyhound Adoption has soared recently, we have been very strict on our home checks, questions that we ask to find out as much as we can for each homing, to ensure all our greyhounds stay homed and not returned in/after this very difficult time.

Fizz with his new friend Lucy (was Sprite).

We no longer have any long stayer greyhound, which is fantastic!  Herbie arrived just over a week ago now and the rest of our greyhounds arrived within the last few days.  Please bare with us as we get to know our new dogs, we will be giving them time to settle in before we start assessing them, ready for their viewings to take place.

Greyhound Lifeline may be closed to most people however please rest assured that the greyhounds in our care are being well cared for and plenty of times for cuddles!

The kennel day shift has been modified for our current situation, however they will all be cleaned out, fed, groomed, exercised, being given play time with people and of course tooth cleaning too. The only thing they are going without is the same thing as us; group interaction with different people.

The small team of kennel hands, will work in isolation with a kennel manager on standby for emergencies.

You can follow Greyhound Lifeline on our Facebook Page and on this website.

We will keep you updated on all the dogs in our care, including new arrivals, everyday excitement at the kennels, in our foster homes and greyhounds that become reserved or homed.

TO BUY ITEMS FROM OUR SHOP, INCLUDING THE SALE OF DOG FOOD WE ARE ASKING YOU TO PRE-BOOK YOUR ARRIVAL, INFORM US THE ITEMS YOU REQUIRE AND PAY BY BANK TRANSFER IF POSSIBLE BEFORE ARRIVING.

PLEASE RING 07769348310 OR

WE WILL GIVE YOU INSTRUCTIONS ON THE PHONE TO WHAT WE ARE ASKING YOU TO DO ON ARRIVAL AT THE KENNELS.

We are very grateful for the numerous offers of help we have and continue to receive, but we do need everyone except our small team of volunteer kennel hands to stay away. This minimises the risk of infection to them and maximises the well-being of our dogs who are totally reliant on these seven people.

WE CANNOT ACCEPT ANYMORE DONATIONS OF FABRIC BEDDING, WE ARE VERY MUCH APPRECIATIVE TO THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE ALREADY DONATED.

AS THE COLDER WEATHER APPROACHES, WE ARE NOW USING PAPER BEDDING WHICH KEEP OUR GREYHOUNDS NICE AND WARM FOR THE WINTER MONTHS.

Events:

We were in Fleet, Town Centre on the 19th September and raised £200.10, thank you to everyone who supported us.

On the 10th and 11th of October the team we were collecting outside of Redfields Garden Centre.  The team had a wonderful day talking to locals and people who had come to meet and greet us.  Well team Lifeline!

Dog Donated Items:

Donated items for kennel usage will still be accepted at the kennels & will be very much appreciated.  Please phone us on the number above to arrange a drop off.  Thank you.

Toys:

During this difficult time we are busy finding new ways to entertain the greyhounds and have different activities each day.

Our greyhounds love to play with humans and with toys, you can imagine how many toys we get through!  Some of our dogs try to gain more toys in their beds by pinching a few when playing in the sand paddock.  How can you say no to this adorable face!

Fearghal showing us his football skills

Fearghal has been asked by his kennel friends if he can ask for some more toys from our supporters. Please can we ask that no toy has any beans, batteries or anything hard that may come off after a greyhound has been playing with it!  The kennel hands would like to ask for non squeaky toys!

‘More Toys Please!’

If you are able to donate please email us on: [email protected] or by phone on 07769348310.
