Rain, Rain Go Away!

We have had a very wet February and the kennel greyhounds are not amused!  This hasn’t stopped our normal routine or enrichment activities, although the greyhounds would have liked not to have been walked in the wet, cold stuff!
They all prefer to stay inside and enjoy a long snooze instead!

Yoyo enjoying his home comforts!

The kennel greyhounds enjoy their daily walks and look forward to the new location each day.  This not only helps to stimulate their brains but builds confidence around a variety of new objects e.g. motorbikes, roads, trees, shops, puddles, lakes, horses and the list can go on!
One of our long stayers – Milton enjoys the extra fusses and extra toys that he has from all our volunteers.  He just LOVES to play, as you can see from this picture.

We have welcomed several new greyhounds in during February and one of them is Mufasa!  This lad is a sweet boy, who has taken to home living with such breeze!

Mufasa, a lovely friendly boy.

If you would like to help walk our kennel greyhounds, please get in contact, we are always looking for new volunteers to help us and the greyhounds certainly enjoy their 1:1 attention.  All walks are local to Southampton and take place within a group situation.

Thank You to Jollyes in Totton:

We had a lovely Saturday’s morning in Jollyes, the staff were very welcoming and the greyhounds all enjoyed their cuddles and treats from the staff and the public.

During our visit we were able to promote greyhounds as making wonderful pets and we also had some serious interest in some of our kennel greyhounds.  Zinta was one of the lucky greyhounds who was reserved shortly after this visit, with a few other people keen to adopt too!
