Schooner has been homed – 1/5/20.
He is a confident, very friendly, dark brindle male. This lad is house trained and rather enjoys home life! He is currently living with another male greyhound and they get on very well.

This lad can get a little anxious at strange noises e.g. hoover, washing machine but his foster family are helping him through these first time home experiences.

Schooner has a very happy, waggy tail and he now has a much shorter tail that he can wag and not hurt himself with at the same time!
He loves his outings, travels well and is always very keen to get into the car.
This boy loves his food, he will give you a clean bowl every time!

He also enjoys playing; either with you or with his toys.
This boy has a real talent for fetch, he loves a football or tennis ball to be thrown and will bring it back to you, ready for the next go. What a clever boy!
Schooner loves to have a cuddle with his human friends and will lean right into you, sometimes forgetting he is standing up as he is enjoying it so much!
He would be fine as an only pet or as a companion to another greyhound or larger breed of dog in an adult home (or one with teenagers) and he’d be fine to be left unattended for a few hours. He can walk nicely on a lead but has the potential to be strong if he’s chase instinct is triggered.
Schooner needs further socialisation before he will accept smaller breeds of dog as friends, which he is having daily with his foster family.

Schooner is very responsive to his handler so training him each day out and about he will soon learn the skills needed to enjoy the company of smaller dogs.
Whilst in foster care he is enjoying his walks, he is interested in the other dogs he sees particularly smaller breeds, Romeo (his foster brother) is showing Schooner how to behave around smaller breeds.
