Robbie Has Been Homed

Robbie has been homed.  8/2/15

He is a confident and friendly, handsome white and black male who was born in March 2007. Robbie is a bit of a lazy boy, quite happy to snooze the day away in the run or the office or anywhere really that gives him a chance to watch what goes on whilst he dozes.

Robbie walks nicely on a lead, he travels well and is keen to get into a car for his outings.

This boy needs clear boundaries and natural leadership from his human family however. Without that he’s a little “too big for his boots” in some respects which can lead him into problem behaviours.

He has met other breeds of dog and he is steadily improving although he is not as yet trustworthy. Suitable as an only dog or as a companion to a well mannered and easy going greyhound or greyhound look-alike bitch.

Robbie needs an adult only home.

Foster report of Robbie:

Robbie has been our foster dog since the last weekend in September 2014. He had never lived in a home before and we already knew he liked his own space. We were a little worried as he would be sharing with another male greyhound and a blind female rescue street dog from Thailand. This is going to be a challenge we said! Well it hasn’t been a big challenge at all. All the dogs have settled reasonably well with each other, Robbie has his own little room to relax and start enjoying home comforts for some parts of the day and is supervised when with our other dogs, whilst they still get used to each other. He does get a bit grumpy when our blind girl tries to walk on his head but that is understandable!

All he wants in life is a comfy place to sleep and a nice walk. He isn’t an” in your face dog” but will never refuse a stroke or cuddle.

He enjoys his walks and has cottoned on to our family routine very quickly. He can walk very nicely on a lead and is getting used to seeing different things out and about including cats. We often see other dogs which he can walk past quite happily but is still very keen with small fluffs but responds to the correction given to him.

He hasn’t been fazed by any of the usual household noises and I can vacuum around him now without him even opening an eye. He has been clean in the house from day one. He loves his food and bounces on his two front legs when it is treat time. He loves a run around the garden with a toy and will bring it back for you to throw again and again.

If Robbie’s future family live in the Fleet area or can travel to Fleet we are happy to cover the cost of a couple of behaviour sessions with K9 Matters, our behaviourists in order to set you and Robbie off to the best possible start.
