Welly Has Been Homed

Welly has been homed – 5.6.21.

Welly is in kennels near Fleet, Hampshire, he arrived with us on the 15th May 2021 and he was born on the 2nd of May 2014.

He is a friendly, happy chap who enjoys having cuddles and snuggles with his human friends!

Welly enjoys going out for his walks, he will trot along next to you, exploring new places with confidence.  This lad loves observing nature as he walks with you.  It is all new and exciting to him but yet he will still walk on a slack lead, just fascinated by what he sees.

This lovely chap has soft pads on his front paws so can find tarmic floors harder to walk on, however once he has his special boots on there is no stopping him and he will walk very happily with you on short and long walks.  Welly has no issues wearing his boots for outings and it certainly doesn’t stop him doing anything.

He is seven and a half years old and although this may seem middle aged to most of us, Welly shows the energy of a much younger dog!  This docile chap has only just finished racing, we believe he truly deserves a special home, to enjoy his next years in and doing what all greyhounds do best, roaching on a nice padded bed!

Do you like to sing?  Well Welly does too, not always in tune though so practise would be needed!

Welly singing a tune to you.

Welly can jump in a car with ease, but sometimes just needs a little encouragment to do so.

The boy enjoys his food and will give you a clean bowl at every meal time, Welly has a sweet tooth and treats go down very nicely too but he will choose which ones he likes though, (softer the better)!  He takes food and treats from your hands very gently and waits until you are ready to give him those little extras!  What a gentlemen he is!

This lad could be an only dog if someone was only going to leave him for short periods or he could live with another dog.  At this stage in his training, he is quite happy to watch other breeds of dog play but chooses not to want to play with them.  Welly is a confident lad who knows what he enjoys within his racing years, however once in a home environment, going out each day for walks, will help Welly, to build up his circle of friends and will teach him more about ‘life outside of racing’.

A home with older children would be his dream or some humans that can play with him and his toys he would also enjoy. He likes to follow you around either for some cuddles or to enjoy some play bowing sessions with you.

Welly does enjoy playing with toys but if something more interesting is happening he would much rather be over there discovering what he’s friends are doing!

Welly showing his mischief side, creeping into the kitchen!

He can be cheeky and one of his hobbies is to open the kitchen door and peek inside.  Welly does not jump up on the sides but has a good sniff incase anything has dropped to the floor, he is quick though as he doesn’t want to get caught!

Are you looking for a middle aged greyhound to share your walking time with?

Would you like a gentle lad who just wants a quieter life, then Welly is your man!

Please give the adoption line a call to find out more about this lad and hopefully see him during a viewing.  You will not be disappointed with this boy.
