Week 8.

Dear Greyhound Lifeline

Monday 24th

I drank water from one Stainless Steel dish but refused to eat food out of the other. I was left at home AGAIN, while they went shopping.

Tuesday 25th

Last night I needed to go out during the night – twice. They were delighted because I went to the landing and barked, how else could I wake anybody up? When I came back, he had gone to his computer room [insomnia] sp I took advantage of his bed for a couple of hours. D’you know, he pushed me off, that is not being friendly, is it?

I had a real good run around the sports field, across the road, with Brandy, another ex-racer, the first time I’ve been onto that nice flat field. John normally won’t take me in case I poo there.

Wednesday 26th

After my exercise yesterday, I was glad to have a more restful day today, we went for a pub lunch across the other side of the New Forest. Four couples in the pub showed interest in me and asked questions. Thank you for phoning about my coat, Marie, John ordered a new one for me. Actually I don’t worry about going out in a repaired coat, its all the same to me, but the new stitching around the tear would let in the rain.

Thursday 27th

I had a good run around today, it was only then that John noticed I almost always run round anti-clockwise.

They went out for about an hour, so I played with Joan’s needlework. She said there was no damage done. So when they brought their supper to have it on their knees, I quickly, but gently, took Joan’s onion-bread roll from her plate, as they both had hot soup they couldn’t quickly get up and take it from me so before they pulled themselves together I enjoyed eating it, leaving only crumbs.

Friday 28th

John bought me a ceramic bowl yesterday, which sits inside my hated stainless steel bowl, I was happy to eat from that today. I’ll have to think of something else now.

Saturday 29th

We went to the post office to collect a package, it contained my new coat. John didn’t like it as it was not as good as my torn coat. Afterwards he took me to a different area to walk and met some more strange looking hounds, I was really admired by their owner.

Lots of Love

Lady
