Amazing Summer Fair!

Our large event of the year was a huge success with the local community, past adopters, volunteers and supporters.

Our DJ and raffle team!

Everyone enjoyed the wide range of stalls, games, competitions and of course our very own homeless hound parade.

Some of the team.

Aboo, Clarke, Blossom, Harbour, Robin and Wazza were all super stars and welcomed the public in a brilliant style.  Most of our kennel dogs could be found in our ‘petting area’ or being walked around by one of our volunteers, they were all very well behaved considering how many people and other breeds of dog that were there too.

We all loved watching the races, seeing those greyhounds work hard for some treats, or not in some cases!

The ‘Doggie Tuck Shop’ was popular too with our four and three legged animal friends.

The ‘Children’s Games Area’ was another huge success and many enjoyed the Hook a Duck and the Teddy Tombola to name a few.

Our plants were snapped up so quickly and we had little left by the end of Sunday, which was fantastic.  All the plants had been grown by a few volunteers and some even had vegetables, fruit on them already!

Some of the talented team members made some scrummy cakes and they were very popular too!

The weekend was very successful for us in many ways, the amount that we raised, the donations that we received too, promoting greyhounds as pets, some interest was formed on some of our kennel residents and being approached by other organisations to hold stalls at other events.

Over the weekend we raised £2,817.86, this is a huge achievement.

We are very lucky to have such a large team of volunteers who have a wide range of talents which has helped raise this massive amount of money.

Our craft table.

We would like to say a big thank you to all our helpers on the day and before, our stall holders, Paula, Carol and Parklife Cafe for allowing us to have our Summer Fair with them and the community who came along to support us.

Aqua Jewellery.

We will be using this money to continue enriching our ‘outdoor greyhound area’ with more raised beds, brain testing games.  It will also be used to help pay for the monthly vet bills.

Greyhound Lifeline and the team are thankful to everyone who made this total possible.  We hope to see you at our next big event, our Christmas Fair.

We will be joining other fairs during the rest of the year, see below for details, please come along and see us.

Kennel News:

Blossom is still looking for her own family, she has seen lots of greyhounds come in and go and yet she is still waiting.  If you are looking for a small female who is already housetrained and a perfect little girl in the house, then please make contact with us.

Blossom is working on her social skills around other breeds of dog and each day she makes positive steps.  She really is a fun, loving girl who really wants to please you. Please look past her other breeds skills and see the beautiful girl that she really is.

Lets help Blossom find her family so she can be the next dog to leave our kennels.
