Fantastic Plant Sale!

We had a fantastic day at the plant sale on Saturday 15th June when a magnificent £643.90 was raised!

Thank you to everyone who came along to buy, we hope you will enjoy your new plants. We would also like to thank those of you who came along simply to give a donation too.

A special and very big thank you goes to Debs, Dec and Abi for all their hard work over many months. They have been sowing, planting, re-potting and bringing on all of the plants. Debs you have a magic touch with your flower arranging within each basket and container!

We have a small number of beautiful plants left over, not many though, so if you want to take a look and buy something come along to the kennels between 11am and 1pm from Monday.

Updates:

The Great Global Greyhound Walk:

On Sunday the 9th June Greyhound Lifeline led their own Great Global Greyhound Walk. The weather held for the occasion with some nice warm spells and we saw lots of familiar faces as well as some new ones too to welcome to the event.

Group photo before the walk commenced.

We had 50 sighthounds in attendance and we raised £185.33 for the greyhounds in our care.

Greyhound Lifeline would like to say a big thank you to Diane, Kathryn and Caroline for organising, route planning and providing the refreshments after the event.

Training:

The team have been busy through May with fundraising events, the greyhounds have also been working hard with their training around unfamiliar breeds of dog.
For some of our greyhounds this is easy and they just want to have fun and play!

For others this can take weeks or months of retraining, patience and reassurance from their handler. We are really pleased with all the dogs and the progress they have made, however small it is to us, it is a huge step for them. Lots of praise and reward is given to all the greyhounds for all their successes.

Marshall excelled himself through May. He has come along way and is now starting to accept small dogs as friends providing he has a handler who he can trust and look to for reassurance.

Well done Marshall!
