Merry Christmas 'The Meadows'

Merry Christmas to Everyone at The Meadows, Camberley

Thank you to all the lovely supporters, volunteers and everyone who came along to say hello to us on Sunday.  We had a fantastic day – singing, dancing, collecting and talking to the public.

Ice being an elf!

During the day we raised £919.15!   As well as this total the public were so generous that we had a trolley full of goodies for the dogs including toys, treats and dog food. Well done team another successful day.

Pre-Christmas Clear Out?

Are you having an Autumn Clear out before the big ‘Christmas Day?’

We would love to have your spare items so we can raise additional funds for Greyhound Lifeline. Our fundraising team are working hard at the car boot sales but they are running out of stock. Items most sellable are:

Jewellery – costume or real, small electricals, games – board and electronic, jigsaws, garden statues, CD’s and DVD’s, cigar boxes, toys, unopened smellies including perfume and aftershave, musical instruments, tools – hand, electric and garden, small kitchen appliances, mobile phones, laptops and vynal records.
Please bring them along to the kennels and we will be very grateful for them.

Christmas Homing Dates:

Due to the excitement of the upcoming seasonal festivities please note that the last homing date for any families with children will be Saturday 7th December 2019. Normal homing will resume on Sunday 1st January 2020.

There may be an adoption or two, for exceptionally quiet homes without children, but each case will be judged purely with the best interest of the dog at the forefront of our minds. Viewings and reservations will still continue through this busy time of year.

Christmas Appeal:

Are you able to buy a small extra present this Christmas? If you are then our kennel residents would love to receive something from our wish list!

  • Butcher tinned meat, grain free please or Chubbs
  • Gluten Free Dog treats
  • Dog toothpaste
  • Dog toys (no squeakers or bean filled toys, please)
Sardines or pilchards in tomato, water or olive oil

All the dogs would be really thankful for your very kind donations and would be able to show you their gratitude through extra cuddles at the kennels!

Appeals:

Bedding: Thank you for your donations, we are now full up again and we will update this page when we can accept more bedding.

Toys: If you have any soft toys that we could use for the kennel dogs we would be very grateful as our stocks are very low.

Fish: We are getting low on sardines and pilchards in tomato sauce which some of our kennel dogs are very partial too. I’m sure Dynamo would be very grateful if you could buy 1 or 2!

Ink Cartridges: Please save your empty cartridges, bring them along to the kennels so we can recycle them and make money for the dogs in our care.

Street Collections: If you live local and are already one of our volunteers wanting to support us through fundraising events please let us know. We have a number of collections this year and are always looking for helpers. Some of our collections are permit limited but a bank of fundraising volunteers is always welcome.

Please let us know by emailing us at [email protected] and include your full name, contact number and your availability.
