News From April

Meadows Collection:

We would like to say a big thank you to all who came along to this event, volunteers who gave up their time to talk to the public, the public for their very kind donations and to the Meadows shopping centre for allowing us to be there for the two days. A special thank you to George (the centre manager) and the security guard on duty for making the team feel so welcome.

The team managed to raise a massive £1,140.36 for Greyhound Lifeline, this money is being used to give the greyhounds an extra paddock to exercise in by purchasing new fencing.

3 Cheers for Tricia!

On Sunday 14th April Tricia, who adopted Connie from us, ran the Brighton Marathon in aid of Greyhound Lifeline. We are very proud of her efforts and she managed to achieve it in 5hrs 40mins. Well done Tricia and thank you for supporting our charity.

Greyhound Socialisation:

Each week we train all our greyhounds with different breeds of dog to allow them to become familiar, over come fears and most of all to make more doggie friends.

Guinness meeting Chloe.

For some of our greyhounds this can take longer and even months of training before they are ready to accept smaller breeds of dog as friends, others just want to play straight away!

Thank you Penny & Adrian:

Another warm thank you to our fundraising couple who have banked a further £1213.00 this week.  This money has been raised through local car boot sales and other events that they have been involved in through the winter months.

This total could not have been raised without the help of our supporters who continue to bring in fundraising goods that can be sold at local car boot sales.  Our stocks are now low, if you can help by donating any unwanted gifts – un-opened smellies, perfume, childrens’ toys, games (board and electronic), DVD`s, jewellery and small electrical items including power tools, radios, computer accessories and watches are most wanted, we would be very grateful.

Kennel Opening Hours:

Please note all volunteers (kennel hands included), visitors and customers must pre-book visits to our site which will involve bringing a non-resident dog on site.

We are asking for at least 24 hours’ notice of your dog’s arrival, details of the day/time you wish to bring your dog(s) and how many dogs you propose to bring. We will endeavour to give you a suitable appointment time, but please appreciate that we can only be as flexible as our lease permits and you may be offered an alternative time/day instead.

You can pre-book your dog’s visit by:
Email to enquiries@greyhoundlifeline.co.uk, by text or phone to 07828 138378 (Marie) or 07769 348310 (Lucy).

The above pre-booking applies to visiting dogs only. Volunteers and customers without dogs joining them are welcome during opening hours as per normal. Viewings remain by appointment only as previously.
