Please rest assured that our greyhounds will be looked after as normal on New Years Day, cover is in place for their care.

We wish everybody a Happy New Year. We have had another very successful year and we thank everybody who has supported us. Without your help with kennel cleanouts, feeds, dog walking, fostering, vet trips, fundraising, coat making, washing, mending, kennel maintenance, home checking, dog training, donations, purchases of food/merchandise etc we wouldn’t have been able to do our job of homing greyhounds as well as we do.

Jedi, Lycan, Captain, Yoda, Cinders, Mars, Marshall, Annie, Merlin, Orca and Tigger would like to say a huge thank you for all the donations that have been arriving at the kennels over the last few weeks. We are all so grateful for the goodies – doggie and human treats included! We hope you all have had a lovely Christmas and we look forward to working with you in the New Year, finding homes for all the greyhounds that come into our care.

Yoda says thank you for his toy!

Christmas Homing Dates:

Due to the excitement of the upcoming seasonal festivities please note that the last homing date for any families with children will be Saturday 8th December 2018. Normal homing will resume on Tuesday 1st January 2019.

There may be an adoption or two, for exceptionally quiet homes without children, but each case will be judged purely with the best interest of the dog at the forefront of our minds.

Viewings and reservations will still continue through this busy time of year.

Christmas Appeal:

Are you able to buy a small extra present this Christmas? If you are then our kennel residents would love to receive a soft toy please (no beans or squeakers inside please).  We get through a large amount of toys and the greyhounds really do love to play with them.

Our amazon wish list is also available for you to see other items we regularly use with our kennel greyhounds.

Information about Rawhide:

Please be careful when buying your dog their Christmas treats, many shops are now selling extra special treats.

Rawhide is made from cattle or horse hides and their journey starts with the hide being soaked in a toxic sodium sulphide to remove the hair and fat. More chemicals are then used to spit the hide and give it, it’s “pure” white look.

On testing, these chews have shown traces of arsenic, mercury, chromium and formaldehyde.

Please keep your dogs safe this Christmas by leaving these chews in the shops.
