Let's Hear It For The Boys!

Updates:

New Premises:

As time is fast approaching, our lease at our current location is nearly ended and we are busy packing up our belongings.  There is a lot of equipment that you build up after 15 years, WOW certainly a lot of fond memories!

We are sad to be leaving but we know our new premises are our new beginning and we are excited by what we are going to be able to achieve!

Beautiful Ninja.

Keep watching our website and Facebook Page as we are getting excited by our new ‘project’ and will update you as soon as we can on our new premises!

Current Residents:

We have four lovely boys with us at present, they all have very different personalities but all have two things in common, they are all desperate for a home of their own and all have so much love to give to their new families!

If you are thinking of adopting, please consider one of these four, none of them have had any interest and we can not understand why they are all still with us as they are all so beautiful!

Follow this link which will take you to our adoption gallery: greyh https://www.greyhoundlifeline.co.uk/greyhound-gallery/

Hunky Cash!

Online Sale of Goods Ordering:

We will soon be able to accept Sale of Goods orders online for non food items.  Once we are set up and ready to go, we will then update you.  This is another new way of working for us and we are very excited by it!

Purchasing of dog food and sale of goods – will now be collected away from the kennels, unless you are homing a dog at the same time. Upon ordering you will be given a different address to pick up your goods.

Please see our ‘Greyhound Merchandise’ pages on our website for items you can purchase.

Please continue to buy your goods through us as every pound spent will help the greyhounds in our care.  Thank you.

Soft Toys: We cannot take anymore soft toys in at the moment.  Once we have set up our new premises we will inform you as our ‘greyhounds love their soft toys to play with’ and we certainly get through them!

Bedding: We are not taking anymore bedding in at the moment.

Closure for current kennel site:

Please rest assured that this is not the end for Greyhound Lifeline. It is in fact the beginning of an exciting diversification which will further enhance our already successful re-training and greyhound preparation methods which ultimately lead to forever homes for these incredible dogs.

Balti who is looking for his own family.

We will still be selling our greyhound products (see website for items) and greyhound food during this period but it will just be from a different location.  Please continue to ring/email and we will update you where and when collection can take place.

Nail clippings and corn removals will continue as normal please ring for a location to meet.

Car-boot items: please keep them coming so we can raise much needed funds for the dogs in our care and our future plans.  We will continue to need these items after we close at our current site so we would be grateful if you can continue to donate these items.

We ask you to continue emailing either our fundraisers on [email protected], or alternatively contact us on [email protected].

In your email please list items you have so we can ensure we can take them.   We will answer your email as soon as possible.  We will inform you where you can drop off your donations or if local the team may be able to collect from you.

Through the forthcoming transition phase there will be fewer greyhounds available and for a short period there may have to be none available for adoption.

Trustee and management efforts must be wholly focussed on preparation and planning for the new working method. We will be unable to manage the care needs of dogs in multiple foster homes in addition to the above. Foster homes are therefore not required.

Contingency plans are of course in place to allow any previously homed greyhound a safe refuge and subsequent re-homing opportunity should the need arise during the transition phase.

We are excited by this new adventure and we hope you will be too.

Please keep watching our Facebook page and website as we will update both with more information as it becomes available.

Blizard after his recent tail amputation operation.

Thank you for supporting Greyhound Lifeline’s work over the past 15 years. We look forward to being ready to help many more greyhounds find homes a little later on this year and onward into the future.

A Change To Our COVID restrictions:

As a small independent charity, the trustees have decided to keep our COVID rules in place, this not only protects our small team of kennel hands but also allows us to continue to care for the greyhounds in our care.

We are therefore NOT reopening to the public for dog walking and all appointments MUST be pre-booked, these rules will stay in place for the near future.  Any updates/changes will be put on our website and Facebook page.

For ALL shop orders, we ask that you give us more than 24 hours notice, so we can collate your items and get them ready for your collection.  We have made this difficult decision to tighten our rules again to keep our kennel hands as safe as possible.  We will continue to take your orders and get them ready as quickly as possible but please remember we are still working on a skeleton staffing rota.  All items that are available to purchase can be found on our website under the word merchandise.

Nail clippings, corn removals and teeth scaling will all still be taking place but they will now be completed outside of our centre until restrictions are reduced again.

Please note anyone coming onto our site, will be asked to wear a face covering, even in the open areas and especially if we are working close to you and your greyhound, e.g. nail cuttings etc.  Please don’t be offended if we ask you to put on a face covering, hand sanitzer will be available for your use whilst on-site.

We value your support during this difficult period and are very grateful for your patience, some appointments may over run, with the extra cleaning between each one.
