More New Greyhounds Arrive

We have a full kennels again and we are also in  desperate need of foster homes as those places too are now filled. If you think you may be able to foster a greyhound please contact us.

Pet Blood Bank:

Pet Blood Bank are coming to our kennels on Sunday March 4th. If you have a dog 25kg or over, aged 1-8 years that is healthy, vaccinated and who has had no medication in the past fortnight and who has not donated blood within the past 3 months then you could donate some of his/her blood and save up to four other canine lives!

We believe there are still 8 afternoon appointments to be filled, so please call Pet Blood Bank on 01509 232222 to book your dog in and save lives. Full information about acceptance criteria and the procedure can be found on our Canine Blood Donor Information page. Goody bags are provided for the brave donors.

Homed Greyhounds:

Elsie, Bianca (now Ruby), Parker, Radnor, Rocket (now Bryn), Holly, Pippa and Jeeves (now Badger) all went home in February. Let’s see who the lucky greyhounds are that will start new lives in March.

Reserved Greyhounds:

Rose and Ivy are reserved.

Updated Greyhound Descriptions:

Jack, Tara and Abbie have updated descriptions. Jack also has video clips to show you what a good boy he is. You will need to have a Facebook account to view the videos. We are working toward adding them directly to this web site.

New Arrival Greyhounds:

Bella, Alfie and Harry are our latest arrivals. Details of all our available greyhounds can be found in the Greyhounds Needing Homes Gallery.

Foster Dog Updates:

Jack is a new dog! What a superstar he is to have achieved so much in so little time. Those of us that know Jack are still in shock (of the very pleasant kind) at his remarkable progress. With thanks to Glenn, Anna and Sarah of Dog House Training for all their hard work. Most especially thank you to Sarah for agreeing to keep Jack with her as a foster dog for as long as it takes to find him an adoptive home. Jack lives with a cat!

Tara is another longer stay greyhound who has very pleasantly surprised us. Since going into foster care she has turned into a real lady and her description has changed to reflect her wonderful changes too.

Ernest (also known as Ollie) is thriving in foster care. He’s a good boy all round and totally relaxed too now he has left the kennel environment. Ernest has passed our cat test.

Abbie remains the perfect foster dog. We don’t understand why this gentle and perfectly beaved girl has not been snapped up already. Abbie has passed our cat test.

Phoebe is doing well in her foster home. She’s a very different girl to the one that first arrived. Again we need to thank Dog House Training for their help settling Pheobe down and thank Angela for her fisrt venture into fostering. Phoebe lives with a cat.

Henry has settled into his foster home very well. He’s an older lad (almost 9 years old) and he’ll appear on site once his veterinary treatment is complete.

Archie, another older lad of almost 11years is also not available currently. He too needs some veterinary work. He is however very happy and has settled in well with his canine companions at his foster home.

New On Site

Fiona has a new Greyhound Blog entry.

Brief details about Bella, Harry and Alfie have been added to our Greyhounds for Adoption Gallery.

More poems written by Tracy Errington will appear soon.

Could You be a Greyhound Blog Author?

New site content is needed in the form of our Greyhound Blogs.

Our archive greyhound blogs are still able to be seen, but some new content from existing authors or some new authors altogether would be very welcome.

Annual Kennel Open Day

We have set the date for our 2012 Kennel Open Day. It’s going to be on Sunday May 20th from 11am through to 2pm. We’ll have lots of stalls and fun events, plus a parade of our “stars of the show”, those greyhounds still waiting for adoption.

Entry and parking will be free, although a donation of canned dog food or fish (tuna, sardines, pilchards etc) in oil, spring water or tomato sauce would be most welcome. Absolutely no fish in brine though please as salt is poisonous to dogs!

More information about events and stalls will be published nearer the day.

Sponsored Event

Marie’s son Ed is running in the Fleet half Marathon on Sunday 25th March 2012 to raise funds for Greyhound Lifeline. A sponsor form will be available at the kennels from Tuesday 28th January. If you would sponsor Ed’s effort we would be most grateful. Don’t forget if you are a UK Tax payer to tick the Gift Aid box. It’s mean extra money for the Charity at no extra cost to you.

Fundraise for us using eBay
